    The Jorge Gomez Family

The family of LVMPD homicide victim Jorge Antonio Gomez is asking for witnesses to step forward as expressed in this public service announcement. Jorge Gomez was practicing his 1st and 2nd Amendment rights on the night of June 1st, protesting the police murder of George Floyd. Later that evening by the Lloyd D. George Federal Courthouse at 333 S. Las Vegas Blvd, he was gunned down by five officers, four of them identified as LVMPD officers Ryan Fryman, Vernon Ferguson , Dan Emerton, and Andrew Locher, of the LVMPD Organizational Development Bureau. None of these officers were wearing body worn cameras. The first officer who shot Jorge with rubber bullets has yet to be identified. During the time of the shooting there were many people around. Due to the authorities' refusal to release surveillance footage (there are approximately 30-40 cameras in that area), it is imperative for witnesses to step forward to help the family create a composite narrative of what happened. If you interacted with Jorge Gomez that night or at previous protests, and/or witnessed the shooting, please contact the family at JusticeforJorgeGomez.com.
